Privacy policy

Updated November 1, 2026. HotVidScout uses email for verified sign-in. Local favorites are stored in your browser; cloud favorites, notes, and subscription preferences are stored on the server after you sign in.

Data we use

Your account email is used for sign-in and weekly updates you choose to receive. Feedback emails are used only to respond to your request. We do not subscribe you to marketing emails by default. Cloud favorites are accessible only to you and authorized operators.

Analytics

When enabled, analytics record page paths, searches, plays, favorite actions, and outbound clicks using a random session identifier. Raw IP addresses are not stored; rate limiting uses a cryptographic digest. Do not enter sensitive personal information in search fields. Client analytics stop when your browser sends Do Not Track.

Retention and unsubscribing

Analytics events are cleaned up under a 90-day retention policy. Disable subscriptions on your account page or through the unsubscribe link in an email. Use feedback to request access to or deletion of personal data. Partnership settlement records are handled under the parties' agreement.

Services and contact

Account and catalog data are stored in Alibaba Cloud PostgreSQL. Uploaded files are stored on our server; private uploads require authorized access. Sign-in emails use our configured email provider, and newsletters are sent only when enabled and requested. External websites have their own privacy policies.
